Dick McConnell

Dick McConnell, born in 1925, is a 1948 graduate of Princeton University and a 1951 graduate of the University of Virginia Law School.

Mr. McConnell has been in the financial and investment management business since 1956. From 1963 to 1972 he served in New York City as President of Donner Advisory Corporation where his responsibilities included the management of assets in excess of $150 million for a wealthy American family. In 1975 he founded the investment management firm of Sound Shore Management which manages institutional portfolios.

After retiring from the firm in 1991, Mr. McConnell moved to Hong Kong to establish South Ocean Management Ltd. with his son, Brook. He lives in Palm Beach where he writes investment commentaries frequently and travels regularly to Hong Kong.
